Top Rated Prescription Drug Rehab

Prescription drug addiction affects millions of Americans every year. There are so many types of medications that are given out to treat pain, mental disorders, attention deficit disorder and a myriad of other ailments that are habit forming and cause rapid physical dependencies, and often, the people prescribed these medications are not fully aware of the repercussions of using these prescriptions, trusting that the doctor knows what is best.

  • Prescription drug abuse may look like:
  • Taking more of the medication than you were prescribed or taking it more often than you should be
  • Seeing different doctors and pharmacists, or buying pills off the street to get more of the medication
  • Using the drugs in ways not intended by your doctor (crushing and snorting tablets, for example)
  • Buying or using other people’s medications that were not prescribed to you
  • Feeling withdrawal symptoms when you cannot get your prescription filled

Even if you are using your own prescription drugs correctly, following what the label says, your body may become dependent on having it in your system and produce withdrawal symptoms when you try to stop taking them.

At DayBreak we treat prescription drug addiction safely and effectively through our painkiller addiction treatment program, our opioid addiction treatment program, our benzodiazepine addiction treatment program, and other customized substance abuse treatment and drug addiction treatment plans.
Our treatment center and care providers are licensed through the State of Pennsylvania and are accredited through the Joint Commission, meaning you can trust our doctors and therapists, and know that you will be kept safe throughout your time with us, in all levels of care including:

  • Medical detox
  • Inpatient rehab inside our recovery center
  • Outpatient treatments
  • Partial hospitalization
  • Intensive outpatient addiction recovery treatments

In an integrated plan that uses behavioral therapy, treatments for mental health disorders, medical detox plans, sober living, group therapy, family therapy and more, you will be able to wean off of all drug addictions and learn to move forward in life on a positive trajectory with relapse prevention programs, life skills programs and more.

What Is RX Rehab Like?

Your customized prescription drug addiction treatment program may include several levels of care. These are:

Inpatient Rehab

When you come to DayBreak for inpatient treatment, you will move into our addiction treatment center full-time, day and night. This is the most attentive and effective means of dealing with severe addictions because you will have structured and busy days, filled with individual therapy, doctor’s appointments, group therapy, healthy living programs, 12-step groups, holistic therapy and much more. You will be physically removed from the people, places and substances that would trigger relapse and have plenty of time without distraction to focus on your own healing.

Intensive Outpatient Rehab (IOP)

The IOP at DayBreak is a tailored outpatient program that has been created to suit the practical needs of our patients while still meeting their clinical rehabilitation needs. It is the first step back into regular life, and is there to help create a balance without too much freedom as you return to work, school, family care, and other important life obligations. You will have a semi-structured living situation, at first coming back to the rehab center five days a week, three hours a day, and then tapering down to three days a week, three hours a day. Programming is offered on weekdays in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening and sometimes on Saturdays as well. There are housing options, 12-step programs, and employment support in the IOP, and drug testing is done to ensure you are in the right level of care for your needs as a person in recovery.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

The PHP is a transitional short-term program that lasts for 3 to 5 weeks on average, usually taking place between inpatient rehab and an outpatient drug rehab program or detox plan. You will live at home or I a sober living home, and come to the center for treatment for full days, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm six days a week. The PHP employs a holistic approach to healing with strategies like mindfulness and yoga included alongside evidence-based treatments to help find a balance between the mind, body, and spirit and encourage overall wellness.

We have outpatient housing options (sober living housing) through our preferred network of local recovery houses. In these homes, you will be able to attend outpatient rehab while integrating back into the mainstream, while sharing a sober home with like-minded drug- and alcohol-free roommates. The housing options for IOP patients in Levittown, Pennsylvania are upscale and affordable, and the residences are separated by gender for additional safety and ease. We also have recovery residences that are for people who need a higher level of care than the IOP provides, as a well-structured living option. Living in a sober home during outpatient care will allow you to go back out into the world, adding real-life scenarios that inpatient rehab does not allow, a key component to reintegration back into your everyday life without becoming overwhelmed by freedom.

Outpatient Rehab

After the IOP, you will likely still want to remain connected to certain aspects of your prescription drug rehab program, like coming to therapy appointments, peer groups, medication management protocols and connections to support groups like SMART recovery or 12-step groups. This is where an outpatient program comes in. With outpatient rehab, you can dictate how often you come in for treatments in a flexible treatment plan that can change and evolve with you as time goes on.

Another important factor for many people addicted to prescription opioids, benzos, and other medications is mental health. Mental health disorders are often interconnected with substance abuse. People will abuse drugs and alcohol in order to self-medicate against symptoms of mental illness, and conversely, those who routinely misuse or are addicted to prescription drugs will exacerbate pre-existing or latent mental health issues. Common mental illnesses associated with addiction are:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Panic disorder
  • Codependency
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Major depression
  • Mood disorders
  • Schizophrenia
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder

Coming to DayBreak for prescription drug addiction treatment includes dual diagnosis care for people with co-occurring mental health issues, a program that treats both issues at the same time in an integrated program, breaking the cycle.

While in our comfortable, safe, and 100% sober detox center, in order to allow you to concentrate on recovery and healing, we will take care of daily chores like cooking, housekeeping and laundry, with catered meals and an assortment of snacks always available. This way, you can focus on your own wellness without worrying about day-to-day inconveniences and maintenance.

prescription drug rehab programs

How Long Does RX Rehab last?

Prescription drug rehab programs are all different, because the timeline depends on several factors including:

  • Which drug(s) you were taking, and whether you were using drugs and alcohol at the same time or mixing more than one substance
  • How long you have been involved in prescription drug abuse, and your level of addiction
  • How often you were taking the medications and how much you were taking each time
  • Your mental health and wellness
  • Your physical health and wellness
  • Your budget and insurance coverage
  • Your unique goals, preferences, and needs

Generally speaking, detox ranges from three to ten days. Then there is the option of a 30-to-90-day residential treatment program, a 21-to-34-day partial hospitalization program, or a 30-to-45-day intensive outpatient program, or a combination of some of all of the above. Levels of care and treatment duration are determined by your needs, and can be as short as 30 days total, up to 150 days.

Our team of addiction specialists will help you build a program that will work best for your unique situation, both practically with work and other obligations, in a way that will help you heal in an efficient and effective drug addiction treatment program.

Top Abused Prescription Drugs

Opioid painkillers – medications like codeine, morphine, fentanyl, Percocet, and OxyContin are often prescribed for pain from surgery, injury, or even for coughs and mild pain. These drugs are highly addictive and often abused and sold on the street

Sleep medicine – medications like zolpidem (Ambien), zaleplon (Sonata) and eszopiclone (Lunesta) are given to help people sleep better, but you will quickly become dependent on them to be able to sleep at all

Benzodiazepines – sedatives that are often prescribed for panic attacks, anxiety, and sleep issues. These are often overprescribed without proper medical oversight. Alprazolam (Xanax), lorazepam (Ativan), clonazepan (Klonopin), and diazepam (Valium) are common benzos.

Barbiturates – these are sedatives that help with sleep issues and anxiety like pentobarbital (Nembutal) and secobarbital (Seconal)

Amphetamines – these are central nervous system stimulants like Adderall, Aderall XR,

Dextroamphetamine and Mydasis that are prescribed for conditions like ADHD, popular for abuse because they boost energy and alertness.

Dextromethorphan (DXM) – found in cough medications, DXM has a psychoactive element to it that can get you high and cause hallucinations. This is commonly abused by youth as it is easily found in medicine cabinets.

Antidepressant drugs – Zoloft, Prozac, Lexapro and Paxil are commonly prescribed antidepressant medications that cause physical and psychological addictions, even when taken as prescribed. A detox program will help you quit these medications safely.

drug detox treatment programs

What Is RX Detox Like?

Detox is the process your body goes through to cleanse your system of drugs and alcohol and is the first step in treating substance abuse disorders and alcohol and drug addiction.

We have a medically supervised detox that helps our patients wean off of the abused prescription drugs, helping the body remove the substances from the bloodstream and helping you feel normal again.

You may experience withdrawal symptoms at this time, which is normal as the body works to rebalance your brain chemistry and becomes used to not having the drugs it has become accustomed to.

There are several withdrawal symptoms that are seen across most detox programs, which include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Headaches
  • Tremors
  • Depression
  • Sweating
  • Anxiety
  • Irritability
  • Muscle aches
  • Insomnia or other sleep issues
  • Hallucinations (or delirium tremens in alcohol detox and alcohol withdrawal)
  • Blood pressure and heart beat fluctuations
  • Drug cravings

There are also differences in detoxing from different substances, for example an alcohol addiction treatment plan will be much different from cocaine detox or opioid addiction treatment. For this reason, we provide a full medical detox, with comprehensive and psychological care that is customized to best help each patient, helping streamline your results and ensuring we are able to keep you medically safe, as well as comfortable and cared for.

We emphasize luxury and comfort in our drug treatment center because detoxing can be uncomfortable or distressing. We have found that when our clients are comfortable, they are more open to treatment and have more positive results and the more success in recovery, which will help you return to your healthy everyday life faster.

All care is overseen by a physician, with nurses and nurse practitioners available 24 hours a day. We use medications to help with the detox process, so your prescription medication detox is as safe, comfortable, and effective as possible.

There is also comprehensive psychological care provided during detox, as there is more to addiction than body chemistry. With therapy and counseling, you will be able to deal with difficult thoughts and emotions, and begin to work through the underlying issues that cause addiction.

You will have several amenities available to you during prescription drug detox inpatient treatments including a holistic spa, salon services, massage, and movie theater access. Our detox facility has 16 beds. Your room will be semi-private, with your own TV and headphones, a private bathroom with a shower, premium adjustable beds, and your roommate will likely be dealing with similar issues to you and will be able to relate to your struggles. Cell phones are allowed at the intensive outpatient and outpatient levels of care, and there is a designated outdoor smoking area so you will not need to worry about nicotine cravings.

Once you are medically stable, you will be able to step down from your detox program into residential rehab, partial hospitalization program (PHP), or an intensive outpatient program (IOP), or join an aftercare program.

How Long Does Prescription Drug Detox Take?

Prescription drug detox at DayBreak Treatment Solutions addiction treatment centers takes anywhere from three to ten days until you are medically stable enough to move into rehab, depending on your level of addiction and your need for medical care, medications, and other treatments as you detox. Your plan will be tailored to fit your needs, and we will meet you where you are in your recovery process, so you receive the appropriate levels of care without overdoing it.

Acute detox is the type of detox provided to people who need 24-hour intensive medical care and oversight due to life-threatening or critical health conditions caused by severe addiction. Drugs can cause damage to organs and create intense psychological issues, so a full-time prescription drug addiction treatment program will have the full-time care, medications and monitoring need to ensure you are safe in case of dangerous side effects like seizures, high blood pressure and heart issues, respiratory issues, delirium tremens, etc. come up.

Sub-acute detox is a less-intensive version of inpatient prescription drug addiction treatment that will be customized to give you an appropriate level of care if you are not suffering from extreme withdrawal symptoms.

Medically Safe RX Detox Program

When it comes to opiate addiction, benzo addiction or other types of prescription drug addiction, detoxing may be intimidating or even frightening to contemplate. The withdrawal symptoms can be harsh, painful, and even dangerous to your health if they are left untreated by medical professionals.

The DayBreak luxury drug addiction treatment center can help you through your drug detox with our medical detox treatment programs. You will remain safe, comfortable, and taken care of, as you live inside the detox facility full time, with 24-hour care provided by licensed and accredited doctors and nurses.

When you first come to our drug addiction treatment center, we will screen you for medical issues and mental health disorders, getting to know more about you and your level of addiction, so we can customize your treatment plan. Once you agree to the terms, you will move directly into your shared semi-private room in the detox center, with a maximum of one roommate. You will remain in our care, with full medical oversight, frequent check-ins, and psychiatric care.

In many cases, we provide doctor-prescribed doses of medications that will keep your detox from drugs and alcohol as safe, comfortable, and effective as possible and we also accept patients who are currently on a suboxone or sublocade maintenance program.

As each person is unique, and each type of drug causes a different set of withdrawal symptoms, your plan will be customized in a way that will best work for you, helping you avoid anxiety, drug cravings, pain, restlessness, and other distressing symptoms. Your body will work hard to remove toxins from your system until you are medically stable enough to move on to further rehabilitation and aftercare, usually within three to ten days.
